I just read an article on TheDailyBeast.com titled Why Cougars Die Young? The premise of the article is that women who date men who are much older or much younger than them tend to die younger than women who date men in their own age range.

According to the study, “women marrying a partner seven to nine years younger increase their relative mortality risk by 20 percent compared with couples who are both the same age. If your partner is seven to nine years older, your relative mortality increases by only 8 percent.”

While the data may be true, the article also states that the major reason why women who date much younger men are at risk is because of the pressure society places on the woman for having a relationship with a younger man. As we all know, it’s “okay” for an older man (Sugar Daddy) to have a relationship with a much younger woman (Sugar Baby) solely for the purpose of fun and excitement, but heaven-forbid a woman does the same. However, the article also mentions that “Without that societally imposed stress, a later study may prove it’s actually healthier for women to have a younger husband.”
